Ultrasonic Sensors

Ultrasonic sensors present the ideal solution for non-contact position and distance measurement in all industrial areas where environmental conditions such as dust, smoke or steam may affect the sensors. Objects consisting of a variety of materials can be detected to within millimeters regardless of color or shape.

The ultrasonic sensor produces a data carrier utilizing very high frequencies that are outside the human's audible range. The time it takes for that ultrasonic wave to pass between the sensor and the object is the value for the distance or the position. Ultrasonic sensors have proven their reliability and precision in many industries, including lumber and furniture, construction materials and equipment, farming equipment and in level control applications.

AS-Machine Interface

Flexible standard for fieldbus communication The actuator sensor interface (AS-Interface) with special yellow flat cable supplies power to the sensors and actuators as well as allowing you to transfer data to a maximum of 62 nodes per AS-Interface network. The installation time and costs are much lower compared to conventional wiring technology.

The AS-Interface transfers data reliably, is extremely resistant to electromagnetic interference, has a diagnostic function and can detect faults such as short circuits. Retrofitting the AS-Interface is extremely simple.

Machine Safety Sensors & Controllers

How it works

As photoelectric fail-safe sensors we operate with light. Depending on the construction we are also known as optical barriers, light grids or scanning curtains. As we operate according to the through-beam principle, we exist as a pair consisting of transmitter and receiver. The transmitter sends the light, which is projected directly, or by means of an adjustable mirror to the receiver. As scanning curtains or light grids we consist of a chain of transmitters and receivers, producing a close-mesh network of light. This means wecan recognize smaller objects like fingers. As soon as one light beam is interrupted, the corresponding receiver does not get any light, thus causing a contact to open in order to release the requested safety measure.

What it can do?

When a machine causes a hazard for personnel or equipment articles, target safety measures are required. As fail-safe sensors we meet these requirements by providing the machine or automatic process with the requested safety function. We provide a non-contact safety function which immediately switches off the machine as soon as a person is located in the hazard zone.

Scanning curtains are primarily used for presses, drilling and cutting machines. They form a dense protective grid which can recognize hands or even individual fingers. Light grids and light barriers are used as safety equipment for manufacturing robots, welding and manufacturing lines as well as high-bay warehouse systems. They are also employed in timber processing, packaging and printing machines.

What makes it so special?

We meet the requirements for non-contact safety equipment in keeping with the European guidelines and machine directives. We have been certified in keeping with IEC/EN61497-1 as safety sensors of category 2 or 4 and/or type 2 or 4. Depending on the model, we can cover areas with a width of up to 65 m whereby the minimum distance between the individual light beams is 14 mm. Even under extreme conditions we offer perfect function, and some of us have been approved as safety sensors for potentially hazardous areas. In combination with the modular evaluation device SafeBox, several safety systems of one or several machines can be evaluated centrally.

Capacitive Sensors

Capacitive sensors can be used to detect metal objects as well as nearly all other materials. These sensors are often used in applications including level, flow control for detection of liquids, grains and powders.
